Working The Room – one hour showcase
Working the Room is guaranteed to change how you see large groups for the rest of your life! As well as a training session, it is ideally suited as a showcase for cocktail functions and more.
When you’re working the room at any event, whether there are 50 people, 100 people or 150 people plus, you’ll never see people clustered in more than six group types. By recognising these groups and understanding how a room works, you will significantly elevate your confidence levels. You’ll also be able to map your entry and make conscious decisions about the easiest place for you to start.
Session overview
Being expected to mingle amongst strangers, to establish new business links, and to seek potential opportunities to do new business on behalf of your firm can be a frightening prospect.

By the end of this session you’ll be able to clearly recognize how the room works, see a wide range of choices which are available to you upon entry, and you will always have multiple options to answer that scary question “Where do I start?”
In Working the Room, you will learn how to:
- be in command and control of your environment
- understand the various group formats
- deal with rude groups
- deal with rude individuals
- get into and exit groups
- escape from the sticky guest with respect and courtesy
- recognise all the options and choices available to you when entering a room
- welcome other people into your group
This presentation works best for a group of up to 60.
